Injuries big problem for Benitez
This has been a very turbulent season for Liverpool and in spite of the very good league campaign, it seems that the Reds will miss out on yet another Premier League title. However, Rafa Benitez’s team have shown nig improvement from the last few seasons when they were out of the title race even before the closing stages of the season. The team look very good at the moment and with just few more players they should be able to finally win the long-awaited title. The Reds are still within a chance of fighting for league trophy this term but that will only happen if United drop at least six points in the remaining three games, which is highly unlikely. Nevertheless, the future looks bright for Rafa Benitez’s side and their fans are eagerly awaiting for another season of Premiership football.
Unlike the last few years, Liverpool had a great start to the season and they were the in-form team of both Premiere League and Champions League. They quickly took over the top in the Premiership and Manchester United had plenty of problems closing the gap behind them. The Reds didn’t make too many mistakes along the way but United still managed to leapfrog them in the standings thanks to the outstanding run of results. The Reds were eliminated from Champions League after the thriller tie with Chelsea, even though they maybe did not deserve to be knocked out. Rafa Benitez had some problems with injured players and the results did usually suffer when either Gerrard or Torres were injured. This is why the Spanish manager needs to boost his squad over the summer with a couple of new signings so that he could cover for the possible absentees. In spite of playing really well lately, Liverpool have been unable to catch Manchester United at the top but at least the Reds have built a good team spirit, which will help them a great deal next season.
The Reds are still hoping that Manchester United could slip up, which is not entirely impossible as the champions are yet to play Wigan and struggling Hull away, while they will host Arsenal. On the other hand, Liverpool should have an easy job in the last two games with Tottenham and WBA, thus if United fail to take at least four points from the last three games, the Reds will probably win the title. Bet 365 pay 16/1 (17.00) on Liverpool to win Premier League, maybe it is worth betting a few quid.
